A Reflecting Chrismas Song

Dec 16, 2008 Author: anna | Filed under: Christmas

I actually grew up with this song - We Are the Reason. While this is mostly played during Lent Season, this can be a good song this season that we can reflect to. I’ve included here the lyrics so you can sing along with the video.

You need to a flashplayer enabled browser to view this YouTube video

As little children we would dream of Christmas morn
Of all the gifts and toys we knew we’d find
But we never realized a baby born one blessed night
Gave us the greatest gift of our lives

*We were the reason that He gave His life
We were the reason that He suffered and died
To a world that was lost He gave all He could give
To show us the reason to live

As the years went by we learned more about gifts
The giving of ourselves and what that means
On a dark and cloudy day a man hung crying in the rain
All because of love
All because of love

*Chorus

I finally found the reason for living
It’s in giving every part of my heart to Him (every part to Him)
And all that I do every word that I say (you know I’ll be saying)
I’ll be giving my all just for Him, for Him (every thing for Him)

We are the reason that He gave His life
We are the reason that He suffered and died
To a world that was lost He gave all He could give (all that he could give all)
To show us the reason to live

#He is the reason to live
(don’t you know do you know the reason
that he came, oh he came to save us
when he gave his life for us) he suffered and died
To a world that was lost He gave everything (everything that He had He gave)
To show us the reason to live

*chorus + # together
Don’t know how I could thank Jesus all that he had all..
*chorus + # together

Missing my Aunt this Christmas

Nov 18, 2008 Author: anna | Filed under: Christmas

How time flies and soon it will be Christmas again. I just so loved this season as it unite my family. This is also the time when my relatives would go home from overseas and stay for a month or two with us.

This year, some of my relatives won’t be able to come home to celebrate with us including my old made aunt. She’s actually 65 years old and quite old. Last year, I gave her a DVD player to partner with her newly bought television as a Christmas gift. You see, she loves watching movies but since, she’s too old to go out, we urged her to buy her own entertainment set.

She called up yesterday telling that she can’t make it this year. So I’m thinking of the possible gift that I could give her. I actually spotted the Medical Alert. I think this will be a great gift since she’s far from us and no one will look after her except for another relative. This gadget is a good one since she’s not getting any younger and it will be used to update us about her health conditions. I still have to investigate which gadget is perfect for her.

Another exciting thing about giving this gift is that I can buy it online and have it delivered to her house. I know that we’ll miss her this holiday but we’re all hoping that she’ll be alright even though she’s far away. =)

Christmas Movies

Nov 18, 2008 Author: anna | Filed under: Christmas

When I was a child, my dad used to rent some VHS tapes for the holiday. Most of the movies rented are cartons including my all time favourite, Pinocchio and Cinderella. As I grow older, my views on how to spend my Christmas are changing every year.

I started embracing romantic movies when I turned 12. I mostly love musical movies with romantic theme. However, I used to watch Home Alone and its sequels and other child-friendly films.

Today, I’m still spending my Christmas with my favourite movies, only now in DVD format =). I wake up early in the morning and go to the church to give thanks. While waiting for some visitors in the afternoon, I would set our DVD player and start watching movies. Last year, I watched “The Holiday and the Lake House.” I was also able to watch again “ the Da Vinci Code.”

This year, I’m not sure if there are romantic movies coming on theatre. However, I’m planning to rent some CDs again, just like the old times. I’m actually looking for some old Christmas movies that I can rent before the holiday begins. Here’s my list.

1. While You Were Sleeping
2. Miracle on 34th Street
3. All I Want for Christmas

Can anyone recommend to some old good Christmas movies to watch?

My Recommended Christmas Albums

Nov 17, 2008 Author: anna | Filed under: Christmas

It’s 37 days before Xmas and I just can feel the soft and cold wind breeze again on my cheek. I also now hear Christmas carols and music and even see inviting decorations while walking along the streets. Indeed, the Christmas spirit is in the air.

While there are upcoming Christmas albums to launch this season, I would like to share with you some albums that I bought and played these past few years. I personally recommend these albums because they have brightened my Christmas and made each day remarkable. =)

I love RnB so most of my collection are from this genre.

1. “Snowflakes,” by Toni Braxton
2. “8 Days of Christmas,” by Destiny’s Child
3. “Merry Christmas,” by Mariah Carey
4. Let It Snow by Michael Buble
5. Christmas Memories by Barbra Streisand
6. Home for Christmas by ‘NSync
7. Christmas Album by Backstreet Boys

Enjoy listening!!!
