A Whole New World

My niece will be celebrating her third birthday on November 2. Well, it’s actually more than three months from now but I’m already planning about the theme of her party. Her mom and dad have been in abroad for almost three years and I’m the one who took care of her since they left.

Ashley’s mom is my youngest sister and she hasn’t returned until this year. I planned for her christening and first birthday as well. Her first birthday was held in our backyard with “Winnie the Pooh” as the theme party. I got all the party favors with Winnie The Pooh designs and even the music but wasn’t able to get her own Winnie the Pooh costume. Well… despite of that missing piece, the party ended happy and truly rewarding.

Her second birthday was celebrated in a theme park nearby along with my mom and dad and her two cousins (both are cute little boys). We just ate and gave her gifts including her first bike.

As her “mommy-tita,” I just can’t help but get excited with her reunion to her biological mom. I know that my sister is more excited than I’ am. Ashley was only 5 months old when she left.

My sister will finally come home on Ashley’s birthday. Call it exaggerated but we’re already planning for her birthday through exchanging ideas in email and IMs. This year, we’re eyeing for something like a Disney Princess party – Jasmin or the Mermaids. I think we are going towards Jasmin-theme since it’s giving me a hard time to find Kids Costumes for the Mermaids for her cousins =). We’re also thinking of having the party in a restaurant so we’ll just have to attend to our visitors alone and don’t worry about other things.

This will definitely be “A Whole New World” for my niece and her mom. I just can’t wait but see them reunited. =)
