Mish Mash-ups

Then, there were music mash-ups. Two or more songs are mixed where usually one artist sings acapella over another track by another artist which serves as the backdrop.

Now, there are video mash-ups. Two or more different videos are blended to create an entirely new video. Thanks to YouTube, video mash-ups have found their breeding ground and friendly hub. Many of these mash-ups are spoofs and parodies, which offer an object of laugh, either good or bad.

One quite popular mash-up is Soulja Boy’s “Crank Dat,” which apparently have grown millions of fans as they view his dance moves at YouTube. Fans respond by posting videos of themselves dancing along.

Not only that, they began doing cartoon mash-ups of this astoundingly popular song, which gain a similar astoundingly popular response, basing on the astounding stream hits of the videos. You can view cartoon mash-ups of Spongebob, Lion King, Winnie the Pooh, Barney, Dora the Explorer, and the Family Guy. Spongebob Squarepants alone has been viewed 6.8 million times on YouTube. And there are even top 5 “Crank Dat” Cartoon Mash-ups posted at online sites, with Spongebob leading the poll.
