A couple of days ago, Amazon marked another milestone by opening a new digital store that sells DRM-free music. After the noise of Starbuck’s newest deal with iTunes, here’s Amazon that has also expressed their plans of putting up the same business two months ago.
Amazon’s MP3 store allows shoppers to buy and download individual songs or the artist’s entire album within a single click. And because it is free from protection, the purchased song can now be copied to numerous computers and burned onto CDs. Buyers can also enjoy listening to their songs in most types of PCs and other portable music devices that include Apple’s iPod.
The cost per song downloaded is 89 cents to 99 cents while albums sell for $5.99 to $9.99.
