Posted at 2:35 am By: anna | Filed Under Black Music Month '07

June 2007 is Black Music Month, as signed by the United States President, George W. Bush. This month all African-American singers, artists and composers are given warm appreciation with their enormous contribution in the music industry. Some black artists who have lived and died for music includes James Brown, Ray Charles, Louis Armstrong, Mahalia Jackson, Ella Fitzgerald and Duke Ellington. These artists and more have truly enriched and shaped the very core of the industry that every one loves.

In commemoration of these great artists’ contribution, we would want to express our appreciation with their works by featuring them on WikiMusicGuide blog for the whole month of June. Each week, WikiMusicGuide will take you back in history with the amazing contribution of these artists of remarkable talents. Cheers! To all African-American Singers, this is your month!
