WikiMusicGuides My Day

My alarm clock buzzed. As soon as I shut it off, I took the remote control beside it and turned the TV on to get a dose of early morning music videos. I saw a video in one soundtrack channel, playing a song from the television series Grey’s Anatomy. I wasn’t able to catch the artist though. The name seems European or something. I wonder who that artist is.

The next video featured a song from The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie by The Flaming Lips. I missed this band. I bet they already have a ‘best hits’ album or something..

I was on my way to work riding a public vehicle. Radio was turned on, playing a song from Nelly Furtado’s new album ‘Loose.’ Hmmm, I haven’t heard of that album yet.

As I reached work, a student’s phone was on loudspeaker, playing an mp3 of ‘Like You’ by Bow Wow (I asked). When was that song released? And who seems to be the girl singing in there?

At that point I realized two things. That my clock is a few minutes late which made me a few minutes late too. And that I am not familiar with almost all of the songs I encountered today, which made me recognize that I am lagging behind the who’s who and what’s what in today’s music.

I knew I needed to solve this music puzzle I stumbled upon, so I turned to the site where I get all the music questions I have answered—www.wikimusicguide.com!

It has Grey’s Anatomy’s soundtrack page, where I found Kate Havnevik and her song ‘Grace.’ Yes, this is the song I’m sure. Riddle one solved. I likewise looked for the page of The Flaming Lips, and got to be updated with the band. My guess was actually right, they do have a best hits album: 20 Years of Weird: Flaming Lips 1986-2006. I continued with Nelly Furtado’s Loose, and it read : Nelly Furtado’s third album is her biggest yet. Her first of everything. First number one album and first hits after a long hiatus from the music scene. That’s great news! Finally, I found Bow Wow’s artist page and learned that the female voice featured in his song is that of Ciara’s. Ah, so now I know.

Wikimusicguide made my day. Indeed, it has tons of info and more. That’s why I loove it!
