Are you a British Citizen?

I just read Michael Eardley’s blog post, “Live Gigs in Danger” and it led me to crossing beyond the borders of the Music Petition in UK. The post is all about a new legislation that inhibits the central role of music making has in the British lives and communities. It also says that the government is making its move to make it very hard for musicians to perform live in small venues, or for schools, pubs and charities to raise money for causes through musical events.

Michael is asking to spread the petition to stop this legislative move. There are still five months left to catch the attention of the minister as well as to encourage DCMS to implement music-friendly amendments. So there’s still a lot of time.

I’m neither a British citizen nor a musician that can be directly affected with this move of UK government. But, knowing this issue makes me feel so sad and somehow feel sympathy to these musicians. This is the only way I know. I know your time is so precious but 30 seconds can be a musician’s whole life. Please bear with these guys. Spread the news.
